How Plant Magic Coco Coir Works:
Plant Magic Coco Coir is made of fibres from the husk of coconuts. It provides an environmentally safe and economical grow medium. It holds lots of water yet allows air to move freely through it providing oxygen for the roots. For this reason it encourages thick and fast growing root systems. Plant Magic Coco Coir is free of soil-borne diseases but it does naturally contain Trichoderma – a friendly strain of fungus that actually helps protect roots from root-rot. This product can be re-used several times and can be easily disposed of in compost or on an outside garden bed. It can also be mixed with soil to improve the soil’s drainage and structure as it compacts very little over time. Compared to other most other similar products, Plant Magic’s is higher quality. It is more thoroughly rinsed so it has very low salt levels. It is also fully pre-treated and buffered putting it among the best and most stable Coco Coir substrates you can buy.
How to use Plant Magic Coco Coir:
Plant Magic Coco Coir is very thoroughly rinsed, pretreated and buffered before being packed. It is therefore not necessary to wash and soak it before you use it. Simply fill your pots with it, place your plants in the middle and water thoroughly. It contains almost no nutrient so plants rooted into it must be fed with nutrient which is ideally Coco-specific. Plant Magic’s own Coco nutrients are perfect for this. Coco-specific nutrients are formulated to provide more Calcium and less Potassium than other hydroponic feeds because Coco tends to absorb Calcium and release Potassium naturally. Plant Magic Coco Coir can be re-used several times and disposed of relatively easily.
